Originally labeled as Myrtus communis in our 1001 Garden Plants of Singapore, a member of the public pointed out to us the wrong identification of this low shrub with small coloured leaves.
Subsequently, it was renamed as Syzygium buxifolium by a colleague. Well, it is definitely a Eugenia or Syzygium from the Myrtaceae Family, but I am not sure if this is its true identity.
Anyway, these photos show the colourful new leaf flushes, white flowers with long stamens and small reddish fruits.
