SARACA INDICA

This is one of the Saraca trees that I like. Known by its common name Ashoka Tree or Sorrowless Tree, this S. indica (synonym: S. asoca; Family: Fabaceae (Leguminosae)) produces clusters of orangey-red Ixora-like flowers and pinkish-lime green new leaf flushes.

Just like the S. thaipingensis (synonym: S. cauliflora), it is a beautiful shade tree to be planted along roadsides or in parks.
