COLOURS

Coming out from the Clarke Quay MRT this morning, one of the things that greeted me was the colourful iconic MICA building. The painted windows have been there for quite a while now and is a beautiful way to bring out the interesting architecture of the building.

The use of various colours to paint buildings is not new and I also spotted this design element at several places in the area. One of the first that I noticed was the colourful spiral staircases behind the two-storey shophouses along Rochor Road.

Even Rochor Centre's 4 HDB blocks were painted with graduations of red, yellow, blue and green and the colourful effect can be seen from as far away as Little India MRT's bus stop.
