Commonly known as the Beach Hibiscus or Sea Hibiscus, this coastal Hibiscus tiliaceus (synonym: Talipariti tiliaceum; Family: Malvaceae) planted beside the Changi Jetty has interesting heart-shaped leaves and short-lived flowers that open yellow and gradually turn orange before becoming red and shed within a day. The walkway continues along the promenade towards a landscaped plaza area before leading to the Boardwalk.
