Istana is known for its manicured landscapes. This was a clump of beautiful flowering Calathea loeseneri taken outside the Istana on 23 May 10.
Hardly an easy plant to grow because of its need for a well-drained and -watered soils and humid conditions, this is one of my favourite plants and they looked perfect at this semi-shade site.
