XANTHOSTEMON CHRYSANTHUS (VARIEGATED)

Other than the Byrsonima crassifolia etc posted before this, this is another beautiful tree in the Golden Garden.

The more common Xanthostemon chrysanthus (common name: Golden Penda) from the Myrtaceae Family can be found in most areas of Singapore. However, I have yet to see the variegated ones planted anywhere except here in HortPark where there are 2 different variegated forms of it.

This particular one that I planted barely a year ago is bearing floral buds now and would soon be flowering. Its variegated leaves definitely add a new allure to this tree species.

I already made a mental note to go back and take photos of the open flowers when it happens.
