STERCULIA CORDATA (BLUME)

Recently, this tree from the Sterculiaceae Family began its ritual of shedding its leaves again. So many buds started to appear and they were all "bursting" to sprout new leaves and inflorescences, as evident by these photos. I felt privileged to be standing below this beautiful tree that seems to originate along rivers, streams and even swampy areas.

I can imagine this tree standing on its own on the hill top and I would not hesitate to sit or lie down at the base of the tree to enjoy the beautiful moment. But I just could not do that here because of the setting.
