I am so glad that URA conserve some of these old buildings in the Bugis area. I simply love the spiral staircases behind the buildings and remember seeing them at my grandmother's house along the Singapore River.An array of colours have been used for buildings e.g. MICA, Rochor Centre, and these ones here have been painted with vibrant pastel colours, to brighten up the backlane area. It is a simple yet effective way of adding a splash of vibrancy to any area.
