PLAIN TIGER & ASCLEPIAS FRUTICOSA

I have never come across this Asclepias fruticosa until last year.

My fantastic colleague grew a whole batch of it and I planted a few out at various parts of HortPark.

It proved to be a draw for the Plain Tiger butterflies. Unlike the other Asclepias curassavica, the interesting white flowers tend to be more pendulous because of the arching branches.

Here was a Plain Tiger extracting nectar from the flowers.
