ASYSTASIA GANGETICA SUBSP. MICRANTHA

I love rockscapes planted with various species of groundcovers and low shrubs, as seen on some calendars of landscapes around the world.

These photos were not of a rockscape of groundcovers. Rather, they were actually of weeds of Asystasia gangetica susbsp. micrantha (common name: Chinese Violet) from the Acanthaceae Family growing on the rock embankments of the irrigation pond within the nursery. It is also the host plant for the butterfly?

If more species grows on it, I am sure it would look even more pretty and interesting. And this was a concept I had for the rock embankment of HortPark's Irrigation Pond, but I never got the opportunity to put it to fruition.
