ION ORCHARD

I have not taken photos outside Ion Orchard for a while now. The colourful sculptures are always an attraction and never fail to attract visitors to take photos next to them.

The design of the building columns and roof reminds me of the trunk, branching and crown. The tree that was chosen to be the landscape feature is the Ceiba pentandra that I posted recently.

Outside the podium are displays of musical instruments weaved together by a mesh of wires. Next to the corner white christmas tree is a sculpture of the nutmeg (scientific name: Myristica fragrans). At Orchard Central, there was also a sculpture of the nutmeg although the aril is red. These days, the nutmeg is so popular and I wonder why.
