CRATOXYLUM FORMOSUM

An ex-staff of mine showed me a branch last Friday and asked me what was the tree?

Looking at the diseased and distorted leaves, with no flowers etc, it was difficult to tell the tree identity. But one thing was certain, the actual leaves looked quite big, had opposite arrangement and had slightly reddish-purple petioles.

Actually, Cratoxylum formosum came to mind but I wasn't too sure and after making a quick check through a book, I confirmed the identity with him.

Yesterday morning, I saw this tree and took some photos of it for confirmation. I only managed to take a few before I left because the sky was roaring loudly. It looked like the rain was approaching soon.
