MUSA ORNATA

HortPark has many Musa ornata plants in various theme gardens e.g. Water Garden, Floral Walk, Heliconia Walk.

The beautiful pink bracts wraps around the yellowish-orange flowers on the inflorescence stalk. Upon pollination, small inedible fruits are produced as the bracts are shed after serving its function. So the role of the bracts are purely advertisements to attract pollinators to perform the necessary job of pollinating the flowers.
